Nacimiento Lake Area

Nacimiento Lake was formed by the damming of the Nacimiento River to form a reservoir. When the lake is full it has 160+ miles of shoreline. At full capacity the lake’s elevation is 800 feet with 5,400 surface acres of water. The lake draws fisherman from all over the county in a quest to catch large and small mouth bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill and white bass. In addition to the fishing boating, water skiing, jet skiing, sailing and kayaking are popular on the lake. Nacimiento Lake is also known “the dragon” because when viewed in an aerial photograph the lake is shaped like a dragon.

Nacimiento Lake is approximately 25 minutes west of Paso Robles. Heritage Ranch is a master planned and gated community covering more than 9150 acres, there are presently 16 separate tracts developed with a total build-out projected at 2900 private lots and 5100 acres of open space. The Ranch includes housing with manufactured homes, residential entry level housing, custom built homes, lakefront to acreage parcels ranging from 1 acre to 20 acres or more. The ranch has a senior center, a fire station, baseball field , swimming pools, a community center and an equestrian center with access to miles of riding trails. Lakeside and River View Estates are the newest addition to the community along with Cappy Culver Elementary School and the new Oak Hill Center.

Oak Shores is a lake front project located on Nacimiento Lake . Oak Shores has 851 lots of which 660 have been built or are under construction. Oak Shore Estates is approved for 345 buildable lots on a land area of 400 acres with 300 access of open space. Oak Shore Estates is accessed through the gated community of Oak Shores. Oak Shores Estates offers a launch ramp, 140 slip marina, future pool and recreation center.

Running Deer Ranch is located on the south shore of Nacimiento Lake and is a gated community with approximately 128 acreage parcels covering 2000 acres.
