San Miguel is home to the Mission San Miguel Arcangel, founded on July 25, 1797 by the Franciscan order, on a site chosen specifically due to the large number of Salinan Indians that inhabited the area, whom the Spanish priests want to evangelize. The mission remains in use as a parish church to this day and is open for tour to the public.
Located approximately 8 miles North of Paso Robles off Hwy. 101
San Miguel’s countryside offers rolling hills, oak trees and rows and rows of vineyards, almond trees and horse and cattle ranches and the winding roads are perfect for bicycle rides in the country.
Several new subdivisions have been built since 2012 offering entry level housing at affordable prices. Independence Ranch, Ranchita Canyon, Indian Valley, King Ranch all offer small to large acreage parcels and ranches at prices typically less than you will find in Paso Robles.
